Inspiring vocations!
My name is Jay Stoeckl and I am a published graphic novelist, writer, and cartoonist. And Polycarp at the Hermitage (PATH) is my life's ambition!
I have most of a myriad and half a plethora of cartoons already illustrated and ready to go! They're made for your parish email newsletters, paper newsletters, and even your Sunday Mass bulletins.
Dedicated to St. Pope John Paul II and to our Blessed Mother Mary, Polycarp is a Light unto my PATH. I hope it will lighten your path too!
It is also my goal to inspire vocations, one cartoon at a time.

I am not only a Secular Franciscan, but I have an introspective tendency toward the contemplative life. Whether scriptures, the Catechism, or monastic traditions, you will find both insight and humor in my writing.
And I wish to serve as an example for lay ministers to reach out to their own recipients.
And there are a number of cartoon packages available including one for the upcoming Advent season. They are only $3-$5 per strip.

Okay, okay, sheesh...
Let's start with a creative narrative:
On the Eighth Day, God created the platypus...
Somewhere in the wooded mountains lives a hermit named Friar Tucket. He did not want to be a hermit, his Franciscan Third Order was once a thriving community. But now his brothers are gone and the poor padre lives alone.
Hearing the friar's prayers, God stroked the ends of his beard and thought of the perfect new member!
Because the old priest had turned gruff and grumpy in his old age, God felt he needed to lighten up a bit.
Now Friar Tucket was none too pleased at a platypus coming to join the Franciscans.
But what choice did he have?
